ScriptE for iPad: Restore File From Backup
1. Revert to previous backup
Alert: Restoring a file from a backup will DELETE ALL WORK YOU HAVE DONE IN THE FILE AFTER THE BACKUP WAS CREATED.
If you have logged shots or made other continuity notes, ensure that you have exported reports or taken screenshots of that work so that you can recreate it manually after restoring the file.
1. On the file you want to revert to a previous backup, click the BACKUPS TAB
2. Click on the backup that you want to revert to.
3. Tap here.
Alert: ALWAYS READ POP UPS and make sure that you select the right response!
9 times out of 10, a pop-up means that what you are about to do is something you cannot undo.
If you put a file in the bin, there is absolutely NO WAY of recovering it unless you have made a backup of the file somewhere else!
YES and NO are not always in the same position in ScriptE, and this is completely intentional to avoid autopilot answers to get rid of the pop-up, but this is not foolproof. Again: ALWAYS READ POP UPS!
4. WARNING: Selecting YES here will DELETE ALL WORK YOU HAVE DONE IN THE FILE AFTER THE BACKUP WAS CREATED.
If you have logged shots or made other continuity notes, ensure that you have exported reports or taken screenshots of that work so that you can recreate it manually after restoring the file.
Tap here.
5. A popup confirming successful restoration shows up. Click OK to dismiss.
2. Restore deleted file from backup
Tip: If you have deleted a file by mistake by putting it in the trashcan, you may be able to partially restore it, if you have saved backups regularly by clicking on the BACKUP button inside the file.
6. Click on ADD to create a new file.
7. Make sure that you select THE SAME FILE TYPE AS THE FILE YOU WANT TO RESTORE.
8. Name the file
9. On the empty file that you created, click the BACKUPS TAB
10. Click on the backup that you want to restore
11. Tap here.
