ScriptE for iPad: Modify Dialog

1. Lined script with margin notes for dialog changes

1. This is what the lined script with margin notes for dialog changes applied in the example looks like.

2. Adjust margin note colors

2. [[2. Tap CONFIGURE]]

3. Scroll down the Manage Pick Lists Menu until you find...

4. ... COLOR CODES. Click Color Codes.

5. In the COLOR CODES BOX, click on the color blocks for ALTERNATE DIALOG, INSERTED DIALOG and OMITTED DIALOG respectively to open color toggles that allow you to selec colors you like.

3. Insert dialog

6. Place your cursor on the script where you would like to insert the dialog. The INSERT DIALOG button will become clickable.

7. Tap INSERT DIALOG.

8. Select the character you want to add the dialog for (note that you can´t insert dialog for a character if you have placed the cursor in a dialog element already belonging to that character)

9. Add the new dialog to the empty dialog box that pops down from the button. Tap ENTER when done.

10. Swipe right on the script to reveal the margin note.

11. The inserted dialog shows up as a margin note.

4. Alternate dialog

12. Highlight to select the dialog you want to alternate.

For the clearest looking result, copy the full dialog.

Click on the ALTERNATE DIALOG button.

13. Paste the copied dialog to the empty dialog box that pops down from the button. Add the alterations.

Tap ENTER when done.

14. Swipe right on the script to reveal the margin note.

15. The alternate dialog shows up as a margin note.

5. Omit dialog

16. Highlight to select the dialog you want to omit.

Click on the OMIT DIALOG button.

17. Swipe right on the script to reveal the margin note.

18. The omitted dialog shows up as a margin note.

6. Select takes which the alterations apply to

19. Select the margin note you want to edit.

20. Tap on the takes that the margin note applies to.

21. Tap SAVE.

22. The margin note has been updated with the correct takes.
