Current Version is 1.5.4 |
When you click "Download", the file will be downloaded to your computer. |
After it has downloaded, the installation package will start. |
Just follow the instructions on the installation windows. |
After the installation has completed, the tutorial will be opened for you as well as the web page of demonstration videos.
You can delete the mpkg file at this time. |
What's New in Version 1.5.4? |
The photos in the Timecode Log with Photos and the Facing Pages (when photos are included) will now
appear ahead of the applicable take. The previous method used resulted in duplicate photos being included in the reports. |
When creating a unique camera line for a specific take, the line wasn't appearing correctly on the coverage
and in the lined script pages. This has been fixed. |
Long notes in the Daily Progress Report were getting cut off. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.5.3? |
The new estimated running time calculation in the Daily Progress Report needed a little tweak to correctly
calculate the estimated running time when some scenes that were fully credited had been partially credited across multiple days. |
What's New in Version 1.5.2? |
Scenes that had been partially credited across multiple days then fully credited would not have the partial credit numbers
included in previous days Daily Progress Reports when the Include Partials setting was checked. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.5.1? |
At your request, we have added new fields for the time difference between estimated running time
and actual running time. This can be seen in the scenes list, scene window, and the daily progress report where a scene by scene listing is shown. |
Related to the first item, we have also added an alternate projected running time to the Daily
Progress Report that uses the actual time for all credited scenes plus the estimated time for all remaining uncredited scenes. |
We have added a new option to include partially credited scenes in the totals for running time and eighths credited in
the grid section of the Daily Progress Report. You'll see a new menu item under the menu for the Daily Progress Report to turn that option
on and off. This new option also applies to the Partial Progress Report. |
We've add pages and minutes/seconds to the Shoot Day Scene List to make it easier to read. |
We've reworked the process for crediting scenes to make it more clear and uniform as well as to help ensure that
all relevant fields of data are correctly filled in. |
There was a problem when importing a script in Final Draft 8 and a paragraph was split across more than two pages. The
page breaks were off. This has been fixed. |
A problem was introduced while making changes to handle dual dialog during a Final Draft 8 import that resulted
in an extra line of text at the end of scenes. This has been fixed. |
If a scene was omitted in a revision then added back in in a subsequent revision, the eighths added and the scenes added
were not getting correctly updated resulting in incorrect totals on the Daily Progress Report. This has been fixed. |
There were a couple of issues with camera lines not drawing correctly on the Facing and Lined script when
Dual Dialog was involved. This has been fixed. |
There was the possibility of ScriptE crashing when using Command Z to undo after modifying the script in the shot window.
This has been fixed. |
There was the possibility of ScriptE crashing when entering the clip number in the Other Slates list in
the Shot Window. This has been fixed. |
There was the possiblity of ScriptE crashing if the Add Camera to Shot button was accidentally double-clicked.
This has been fixed. |
ScriptE would lock up in the Shot Window when removing the only scene in the scene list after having clicked the
New Slate button to start a new slate. This has been fixed. |
There was the possibility of ScriptE crashing when adding a second camera to a shot. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.5.0? |
ScriptE is officially compatible with Final Draft Version 8. This means, with Final Draft 8,
you will no longer need to make changes to the script so it will import. And, you no longer will need to save the file in the Avid
Format. The only thing you need to do is make sure that all pages are locked. They can be unlocked at any time, but must be relocked
prior to importing the script. Then, all you have to do in ScriptE is select the script file (.fdx) and ScriptE will import it. |
At your request, we have reworked the stopwatch on the shot window. You will now have three stopwatch
buttons, one for each type of take. You will no longer have to click the stopwatch, then click another button to identify the type of take
in the red pop up window. Each of the stopwatch buttons also has its own hot key combination that is shown on the button itself. |
We've added a notes box at the bottom of the shot window where you can type in freeform notes during a take.
If you roll continuous, a little marker will be placed into the notes for you to provide a bit of separation. These notes will be connected to
the take so when you roll a new take or new pick up take, you will have a fresh box for new notes. |
We've added a new field for the Clip # for those of you working with the Red camera. The clip number, if entered,
will automatically be included on the Timecode Log and Timecode Log with Photos reports. And, we've added a new Editor's Log for the Red Camera that
includes the clip #. |
At your request, we've added other new fields to the Timecode Log and Timecode with Photos reports for the lens, filter, etc. |
We've changed the Daily Progress Report to show Pages for credited scenes rather than eighths to make it easier to read. |
We've added page numbers to the Facing Pages so they can be put into the correct order in case they get dropped. |
We have fixed a formatting issue on the Timecode Log Reports that resulted in notes overlapping with the next take. |
There was a way to accidentally save the current shoot day info over the top of a previous shoot day. This hole has been plugged. |
When photos were included in the Facing and Lined Script report and the scene changed, the photos for the last shot of the previous scene were not getting shown. This has been fixed. |
The Timecode Log Reports was showing the Lens in the Lens and Lens Height columns. This has been fixed. |
"Revising" a scene in the Scenes List window would put the new scene at the top of the list rather than where it belonged. This has been fixed. |
Changing a character number didn't properly change the number in the wardrobe, hair, etc. notes within scenes. This has been fixed. |
In the Scene window, when clicking the Show Script button, the Script window wouldn't pop to the front. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.14? |
This version includes even more performance improvements in the shot window. |
Entering just seconds instead of minutes:seconds in the takes list of the shot window caused an error.
This has been fixed. |
Manually omitting a scene or manually adding back an omitted scene was not tracking the eighths
added and/or cut correctly. This has been fixed. |
You can now change the slate. This will allow you to fix an incorrect slate number. |
You can now change a scene number in the scenes window for an incorrectly numbered scene. |
A slate without a number, just alpha characters, would sometimes cause an error. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.12? |
The performance issue in the shot window on Leopard and the odd behavior
on the shot window in Tiger is finally fixed. Woo Hoo! |
Adding, deleting and editing characters in the character list would sometimes
get all jumbled up. This has been fixed. |
When entering the seconds for individual takes in the shot window, you can
now enter the time as mm:ss and ScriptE will convert it to seconds for you. |
Copying and pasting of the Start or End Time for a take from the Other Slates
list in the shot window caused ScriptE to crash. This has been fixed. |
In the scene window you can now enter the script date in the format
DD MMM YYYY such as 20 Feb 2009 although for technical reasons it will be converted to the standard
format of MM/DD/YYYY. |
An action paragraph in a script that started with the word "Page" caused an error during
the import. This has been fixed. |
Changing an action note or dialog change note in the shot window would randomly
cause ScriptE to crash. This has been fixed. |
Moving a scene up or down in the list of scenes sometimes resulted in a
sorting problem. This has been fixed. |
If a scene was omitted manually (not via an import), the script for the scene
would still be included in the facing and lined pages and the view script window. This has been fixed. The omitted
scene will show as OMITTED as if it were omitted during an import. |
If you were to open a shot from within the Shots tab of a scene window, then
clicked the New Slate button in the shot window to start a new shot, that new shot would get saved without a shoot
day. The result was that the shots would not show up in the shoot day window or in reports for a shoot day. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.11 (Post Training Version)? |
Long action notes or dialog changes could overlap other action notes or
dialog changes. This has been fixed. |
Closing the Default Settings window caused ScriptE menus to be disabled. This has been fixed. |
Dragging script text in the Shot Window and dropping it into another part of the script caused the
script to get messed up with no way to fix it. This has been prevented. |
Most windows have been reviewed and a default button enabled. The button will be blue
and will "click" when Return is pressed. |
Clicking the Down button in the Scene List to move the scene down in the sort order when
the scene was already the last scene caused ScriptE to lock up. This has been fixed. |
Creating scenes for a commercial, adding action and dialog to those scenes, then
going straight to a shot and Facing and Lined Page report resulted in the scenes getting mixed up. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.10? |
Cleaned up the process of deleting takes in multi-camera shots. |
Renabled pick list management with open production files to avoid confusion. |
The selected Slate/Take is now displayed over the Other Slates list in the Shot Window. |
There was a problem when opening a production file when the Data Files folder was
missing and the user clicked the button to not open the file. This has been changed so the user will need to close the
file manually if they want to go find the missing Data Files folder. |
There was a problem with the refresh for Action Notes and Dialog Changes when
a take was marked as "Ignore." This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.9? |
The Short Form Breakdown report would sometimes skip a scene
that should have appeared at the bottom of the page. This has been fixed. |
Deleting a Script Revision after an import should not have been
allowed. This has been fixed. |
The Facing and Lined Script report would sometimes push a line or two
to a new page. This was due to adding a little extra space between paragraphs to make the slates more readable
on camera lines. This has been tweaked and should be better. |
If an omitted scene in a script revision being imported happened to be
the last thing on the page, it would not get marked as omitted. This has been fixed. |
We have changed the method of counting previous setups for the Daily
Progress Report to eliminate an occassional miscount. |
Some users, during house cleaning time of their computers, would delete
their ScriptE data folder thus eliminating their pick lists such as Participant Types. We have modified ScriptE
to recreate the folder and file if it is deleted. IF YOU WANT TO PRESERVE YOUR PICK LISTS THAT YOU HAVE MODIFIED,
DO NOT DELETE YOUR SCRIPTE DATA FOLDER. |
The data structure of a ScriptE file consists of a .scripte file and a
Data Files folder. Some users forget to move the Data Files folder if they decide to move the .scripte file to
a different location on their computer and then can't figure out what happened to all of their data.
We have modified ScriptE to keep track of the last saved location and every time the file is opened, checks to
see if the Data Files folder is in the same location as the .scripte file. If not, it will look in the previous
location and attempt to copy the Data Files folder to the new location. If it can't find the folder, it will
pop up a message suggesting that you may have deleted it and to look in the trash. |
The Day field for a new Shoot Day was being left unlocked after the new day was
saved which would allow the user to accidentally erase it or change it. This would result in a Shoot Day 0.
This has been changed so it can't accidentally get changed. |
We've added an "Apply All" button to the Action Note and Dialog
Change note windows. Clicking this button will select all the takes in the list so you don't have
to manually click them individually. |
We've added a copy button to the Camera Settings window that
will copy the Editor Description into the Shot Description field. |
Due to Apple's performance issue that affects the Shot Window, we
have added a function to toggle the camera lines on and off as needed. Turning them off will greatly
improve performance. Use Apple-L to toggle them on and off. |
The Shoot Day date has been added to reports. |
To accomodate writers who like to fudge their page count by
setting their line spacing format to TIGHT in Final Draft, we have added this setting to
ScriptE so the pages will align properly. TIGHT or NORMAL are set on the Script Revision window. |
We've change the Credited Scenes section of the Daily Progress
Report to show the time as mm:ss rather then just seconds. |
We've eliminated the ability to delete a scene that has been
used in a shot. |
If you open a shot from a previous shoot day then click the New Slate
button, the new shot would get logged for the previous shoot day. If you do this now, you will be asked if
you want the shot logged on the previous shoot day or the current shoot day. |
When adding script parts manually in the Scene window, it was
possible to save the scene without identifying the script part as Action or Dialog. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.8 (1.4.7 has been skipped)? |
For those of you working on episodic television, we've added some new functionality that
will allow you to export your character list and your participants list from one production file (episode) and import them
into a new production file for the next episode. That way, you don't have to keep typing in the same list for each episode.
But, after you've imported the list, you can always modify it for the new episode. |
Due to the large number of ScriptE customers, the ScriptE Select Backup procedure was becoming very
cumbersome with each customer having a unique backup email address. This procedure has been modified to use a single backup email address but
your name and serial number are included in the backup email for identification.
You don't need to do anything. This version takes
care of making the change for you. But, you can also see when your ScriptE Select Subscription expires by opening the ScriptE Select Email Address
window under Preferences. Just be sure you are
connected to the Internet when you start the new version of ScriptE. |
In order to make the ScriptE application a little smaller, we've removed the tutorial from
within the application. It's now stored in a folder in your Applications folder called ScriptE Systems. You'll find the sample
script, Depth Perception, there as well. |
Previously when you ended a take and the window popped up so you could select FAV and make comments
for the take per camera, these comments were stored with the take. But, you may start and stop the time several times for the same take,
effectively creating individual clips within a take. Like when the director wants an actor to repeat a line several times. Since your comments
were stored with the take, it was difficult to make comments for each individual clip.
We've now moved the FAV and comments so they are stored with each individual clip. |
We have found that some writers will use first names only for characters for the dialog in the script. But
production will prepare the character list using first and last names. Previously, when the script was imported, ScriptE would compare the dialog
character name with the character list and the names wouldn't match exactly so a new character would be added to the list. For example, the character
list contains BOB MCFARLANE but the script uses BOB.
We've modified the import routine so that BOB will now match BOB MCFARLANE and
a new character won't be created. |
In a script, the standard format for INT and EXT is INT. and EXT. but writers sometimes leave off the period.
The import routine has been modified to handle INT and EXT without the period. |
There was a problem when you added a new location through the scene window that the new location didn't show up
in reports unless you closed the production file and reopened it. This has been fixed. |
There was a problem in the Script tab of the Scene window that, if you accidentally changed the header
line to Action or Dialog, you couldn't change it back to Header. This has been fixed. |
To give you more flexibility, we have added an alternative to the click and flick method of adding action
notes and dialog changes. You can now use function keys. F2 - Add action note, F3 - Copy action note, F4 - Inserted Dialog, F5 - Alternate dialog,
F6 - Omitted dialog. Just select the text or click the location in the script like you've been doing, then press the appropriate function key.
You may need to set your System Preferences for the Keyboard so that the function keys act like normal function keys and not the brightness and volume
controls, etc.
Also, did you know that you can start and stop a take by clicking the stopwatch button (of course you knew that) or by pressing F1? |
The camera lines have been further tweaked on both the shot window and the lined script report to make them
easier to read by making sure that a slate doesn't overlap with a line above it. |
What's New in Version 1.4.6? |
A new install procedure has been created. When you download ScriptE, you will be
downloading an install package. It will automatically install ScriptE into the Applications folder and create a folder
next to it where you can find the tutorial and the sample script that is included with ScriptE.
Related to this
is that the tutorial has been removed from within the ScriptE application, making the application smaller.
In the
future, for our ScriptE customers, when a new version is emailed to you, you will receive a smaller upgrade package that
will install the new version into your applications folder.
If you do not have ScriptE in the Applications folder
and the icon on your dock is pointing somewhere else, we suggest that you run the install, remove the icon from the dock, then
drag ScriptE from the Applications folder to the dock. |
A new option has been added to include representative photos on your facing pages
in the Facing Pages and Lined Script report. You will see a new menu item under the Daily Face and Lined Pages menu.
Click it to turn on the option to include the photos. Click it again to turn off the option. This option is stored
with your production file. |
A new Lunch Report has been added. You'll see the new menu for Daily Lunch Report. This
report can also be an option for Participants to receive via email. To trigger the lunch time report email, you'll see a new
menu under the Reports menu to Email Lunch Report. This process will also include a backup of the ScriptE file if it is
selected for a participant. The lunch report is now also an option in the selection of reports to be saved to a folder. |
Due to the size that a production file and, therefore, a Final Lined Script can be,
we've added the option to print it in sections. |
Long slate numbers were overlapping on the lined script report when the camera lines
were next to each other. We have modified the report so that, if a slate is longer than four characters, it will split
off the slate portion from the scene portion and put the slate portion below the scene portion.
And, in order
to make the slates more visible, they have been moved up into the nearest white space. |
The Editor's log has been modified to handle long camera roll numbers. |
Previously, when you marked a take as a circle take, the take number on the reports
was circled for all cameras in the take. But, the circle may not apply to a particular camera. You can keep the take number
from being circled for a particular camera by selecting "NG" from the pick list when you add the comments after a take. |
We've added the ability to delete a topic in the Scratch Pad. Also, a problem with
scratch pad notes not saving has been fixed. |
We've opened the pick list on the camera settings window for the camera letter designator
so you can change it after a shot has started. For example, you started the shot thinking they were using camera A but it
turns out they were using camera B. You can now change it to B so you don't have to delete the camera and readd it, then try
to recreate the shot. |
Previously, you could not credit a scene that had no shots. Now you can after verifying that
you really want to do that. |
Importing a script with no scene numbers caused ScriptE to crash. This has been fixed. A message will be
displayed stating that the script doesn't seem to have scene numbers and it won't be imported. |
Importing a script with a scene location of three letters or less such as CAR caused an error. This
has been fixed. |
Slate numbering after "AZ" wasn't rolling to "BA" correctly. This has been fixed. |
If a Wild Track was the first thing recorded on a shoot day, the first shot time was getting filled in
and the first shot emails were being sent. This has been changed so only a camera shot will trigger the first shot functionality. |
What's New in Version 1.4.5? |
We've modified the script revision import routine to handle a situation
where action is assigned scene numbers without a true scene heading. When one of these "action" scenes
are found without a heading, the scene heading from the previous valid heading will be used. |
The Daily Progress Report has been modified in the Partials section
where it lists scenes that were partially credited on that shoot day. Each scene listed will now also
include the eighths and actual running time credited for that day. |
A button has been added next to the title of the production that,
when clicked, will allow you to change the title. At this time, the button will only be available
prior to shooting. The title is used to create the folder where captured photos are stored so it
can't be changed once shooting has started. |
When you import a script, you will be reminded to be sure
the scene numbers have been locked for your script, if possible. If you do import an unlocked script,
remember that a subsequent version may not have the same scene numbers and your breakdown notes may
no longer apply to the scene. For example, scene 100 in the unlocked version may have been in a house
but scene 100 in the locked version may be for a scene in a restaurant. |
In the Facing and Lined Script report, the color coding
of the words in the script to which an action note is linked was not working. This has been fixed. |
When clicking the New Slate button and using the
European slate numbering style, the new slate number was not being calculated correctly.
This has been fixed. |
There was still some overlapping of camera lines
in the shot window coverage. This has been fixed. |
In the Shot Window, a limit has been placed on how high
you can drag the splitter in the lower left corner of the window. It will now stop at about the second
line in the takes list so as not to overlap the takes list. |
There was an option when changing a character name in the
character list to also change the name in the body of the script. This has been removed at this time. |
It was discovered that, when adding a camera line
to a shot, typing in the setup list by mistake, then clicking the down arrow for one of the other pick lists such
as camera mode caused an error and not allowing the camera settings window to close. This has been fixed. |
In the Long and Short Form Breakdown reports, if the only thing on
a page is the total scene count line, the report header was not printing for that page. This has been fixed. |
In a production, if you added scenes manually without entering a script revision, the
Long and Short Form Breakdown reports would crash. This has been fixed. Before the first scene can be added
manually, you will be required to first enter a script revision. |
What's New in Version 1.4.4? |
For those of you doing commercials, we have added the ability for you to add
generic scenes to a production so you can start logging timecode and making notes when you arrive on the set without
having to turn your storyboard into a script and import it. You'll find a new menu under the Script menu called
Scenes for Commercial. If your storyboard has ten "scenes", you can generate ten scenes and you are
ready to start shooting. You can change the location when you have time. |
We've added greater flexibility to Save Daily Reports to Folder
by letting you select which reports and files to include. ScriptE will remember your selections but you can change
them at any time. |
The main information on the Long and Short form Breakdown reports was printed red. We've
added a way for you to change the color. You'll find a new item on the Color Legend window under the Preferences menu.
Just select whichever color you want to use. |
The Photos button in the Scene window was not indicating whether the representative
photos had been selected or not. This has been fixed. |
The eighths of a page calculations for scenes during the import has
been tweaked to be even more accurate. |
If you added a dialog change note during a shot then clicked in a different
dialog change note without first pressing Return or clicking somewhere else, ScriptE would crash. The same applied
to action notes. Adding an action note or typing in an action note then clicking in a different action note without
first pressing Return or clicking somewhere else would cause ScriptE to crash. These have been fixed. |
The camera rolls list and report were not sorting correctly. And, if
a camera roll was used in more takes than would fit on a page, the takes would overlap the header on seconary
pages. These have been fixed. |
The camera settings window would get stuck open under certain circumstances.
This has been fixed. |
The script import process has been tweaked so it is more flexible in
recognizing character names. The import process was also not recognizing an omitted scene that was marked
as OMIT rather than OMITTED. This has been fixed. |
In the Scene window, Script tab, moving a script part up or down
was not sorting correctly when reopening the scene. This has been fixed. |
If wild tracks had been recorded on a shot day, the number of previous
setups on the Daily Progress Report would be one too high. This has been fixed. |
Changing the INT/EXT, location or extension for a scene wasn't correctly
updating the Scene Heading in the script. This has been fixed. |
Drawing the camera lines on the Lined Script pages has been reworked because lines
were occasionally overlapping each other. Also, in rare cases, the parts of scenes were not sorting correctly
and were getting mixed up in the report. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.2? |
You can now add a new scene location just by typing it into the location
box on the scene window. If the location isn't in the pick list, you will be asked if you want to add the new
location to the list. This change helps facilitate the process of adding scenes manually if
a script can't be imported or for a short commercial. |
When a new scene is added manually, the Included box will now be checked
automatically. |
In a rare case, changes made in the camera settings window
would not get saved. This has been fixed. |
The Daily Progress Report has been adjusted to
fit more than 60 setups without overlapping the credited scenes list. |
If the user manually filled in the time for the first shot
of the first shoot day, the scripted eighths and scenes would not get "locked"
resulting in inaccurate statistics on the Daily Progress Report. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.1? |
On the facing pages of the Facing and Lined script pages, if a lens or similar
camera setting was the same from one slate to the next, the value would not be shown for the following slate. This
made it appear that the user had not entered the information correctly. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.4.0? |
We've added a new Photo Navigator that provides a quick way to navigate
all of your photos for a production. You'll find it under the Production menu. On the left of the screen will be a list
of all of your slates and takes. Click on a take to view the photos for that take. Use the up and down arrows to
scroll through your photos. Press tab to move back to the slates/takes list and use the arrows to move up or down in the list. Or,
scroll and click a take with the mouse. You can also resize the window to adjust the size of the image. |
Resizing the take photo viewer window will now also resize the photo. |
ScriptE will now handle the European slate naming convention such as 1/1. |
Changing a character name in the character list now changes the name in all the scenes
and in the scene notes such hair and wardrobe. Additionally, you'll have the option to also change the name
in the script itself. Use this option carefully! |
Changing a script date in a scene will now update all other scenes that
are identified with the same script day. |
If you added an action note and typed the note, then opened the note without pressing
Return, the note would be lost. This has been fixed. |
Long actions notes will now automatically reformat the box after pressing Return so the entire note will be visible immediately. |
The Daily Progress report wasn't counting eighths cut when a scene had been added, then cut. This has been fixed. |
If the eighths field was changed by the user after shooting started, the difference in eighths
from the original value wasn't being logged and counted as eighths added or cut. This has been fixed. |
The format of the Final Editor's Report has been improved. |
Changing a description or other field for a shot in the shoot day window,
then clicking the Next or Previous button before pressing Return resulted in an error. This has been fixed. |
The cell of a non-numeric sound roll was being shown red
as if the sound roll had not been set. This has been fixed. |
Changing a location in the scene locations list was not being reflected
in the scenes list until the file was closed and reopened. The change will now show up immediately. |
What's New in Version 1.3.2? |
A bit of testing code was left in ScriptE by mistake. |
An Auto Save timer has been added. Look for a new menu under the Preferences
menu where you can set the Auto Save Interval. Select None if you don't want Auto Save enabled. Otherwise
select the number of minutes between Auto Saves. ScriptE will automatically save your production file
at the specified time interval, unless the stopwatch is running during a take. |
What's New in Version 1.3.1? |
When ScriptE is run for the first time on a computer it will
no longer ask the user where the ScriptE Data files should be stored. This was sometimes confusing
and the selected location could potentially have been in an unwritable location.
Instead, ScriptE will automatically create a folder on the hard drive called "ScriptE Data" and
save the files there. |
In case you are not sure where your pick list data file and
your photo files are stored, you can now click the "Where are My Pick Lists and Photos Stored?"
menu under the "Help" menu. |
The title will now be locked once the production is saved for the first
time so as to prevent the production from losing its connection to the photo files. The folders
where the photos are stored are based on the title of the production. |
After a script revision has been imported, the scene list
window will be opened automatically. |
A problem with the script revisions list not refreshing properly
after an import was completed has been fixed. This made it appear that the import had not been completed. |
Fixed a problem when the ScriptE Select Backup Email Address
window was opened for the first time. |
What's New in Version 1.3.0? |
In order to accomodate common practices in the LA area,
we have modified the sorting for the coverage camera lines in the shot window and on the
lined script. In order for the lines to be display/printed in the order they were shot,
the user will need to reconfigure the Shot Look Types under the ScriptE\Manage Lists menu
by changing the zone to zone 1 for all Shot Look Types. |
If you want to display the camera lines in the order they
were shot, you will have no indication as to the type of shot the camera line represents. So, we
have added a user preference to show the shot look description on the camera lines. This option
is set by making sure the Show Shot Look on Camera Lines menu under the ScriptE\Preferences
menu is checked. |
For those who have subscribed to ScriptE Select, we have
modified the backup procedure. Currently, you had to include the backup email address in the list of
participants. Then, when the daily reports were emailed, the backup was sent to ScriptE Systems. So that a backup
can be sent at any time, without having to email reports to everyone, we have added a special place for
you to enter your ScriptE Select Backup Email Address. You will find this under the ScriptE\Preferences menu.
Then, to send a backup, click the Backup to ScriptE Systems menu under the File menu, or press
Command-B to send the file to ScriptE Systems via email. Naturally, you'll have to have an Internet connection
to send email. |
In order for you to know that you are up to date with the latest
version of ScriptE, we have added a menu under the Help menu called Check for Updates. If you have an Internet connection,
click this menu to see if there is an updated version available. |
What's New in Version 1.2.1? |
We have modified the way that ScriptE keeps track of the order of the scenes
so as to allow for incorrectly numbered scripts from production. |
What's New in Version 1.2.0? |
Added a new Timecode report that includes representative photos from each take. Great for commercials. |
You can now add scenes, remove scenes and rearrange scenes in a shot, even after
the shot has already been started. You will just have to redo the camera line(s) for that shot. |
The save routine has been modified to save faster. This becomes a factor on a feature film after many days of shooting and the volume
of data grows. **If you want to copy your scripte file for backup, you must now also include a folder that will have the same
name as the file with "DataFiles" appended to it. This folder will be created the first time you save a production. |
A problem was fixed that would happen if you started a shot with A camera, deleted the A camera,
then added the B camera. |
A problem has been fixed with the coverage camera lines in the shot window
and the lined script report. If you had selected a specific point in the text of the script where the line
should start in a shot with multiple scenes, and the selected point was in any scene after the first scene, the
line would not point to the correct location in the script. |
What's New in Version 1.1.0? |
Added a new Timecode report similar to the Editor's Log but includes timecode. |
Enabled buttons on camera line drawing window to allow the line
to be marked for take 1 where it stops and starts if different from the beginning and end of the line. |
Added a progress indicator while the production is being saved. |
Added options for participants to send an email when the Camera Wrap time
is entered and to include the new timecode report in the daily email. |
Under certain circumstances, the camera lines in different zones
would overlap on the shot window and in the Facing and Lined pages. This has been fixed. |
The facing pages have been changed to include ignored takes. |
It was possible to make changes to a shoot day such as enter a time
or notes then quit ScriptE without the changes getting saved. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.0.6? |
Disabled the New Slate button on the shot window while the clock is running so the user
wouldn't accidentally start a new slate in the middle of a take. |
Added a sample script that can be used while learning ScriptE.
We have included the script in Final Draft format, the text file after exporting it (this file is
used to import the script into ScriptE), and a ScriptE file with the script already loaded. |
What's New in Version 1.0.5? |
In some cases, the last couple of takes for a shot were getting cut off on the facing pages of the Face and Lined Script pages. This has been fixed. |
If the default printer on the computer had a paper size other than 8 1/2 x 11, the reports would not print correctly. All reports now force the paper size to 8 1/2 x 11. |
Under some circumstances the camera rolls would show as A1-A1 for example on the Daily Progress Report. This repetition has been corrected. |
Sometimes when the user cuts a scene by unchecking the Included box, it would be unclear as to which shoot day this was done. The user will now be asked to verify the shoot day so as to ensure accurate reporting. |
If a production has a lot of participants and required two rows of names on the Daily Progress Report, the
second line was being cut off. This has been fixed. |
The Editor's Log report data would appear to be bolded on pages after the first page. This has been corrected. |
During a breakdown, the user can click the Next button to move to the next scene. The user may not notice that the scene has been omitted. The
only indication was the unchecked box next to Included. Now, when a scene window is opened for an omitted scene, the entire window
will be orange to match the color indicator in the scene list window. |
In some cases, the user could open the same shot in two different windows. This can be confusing. ScriptE has been changed to prevent this. |
The date on the Daily Progress Report would not show for dates with wide numbers. This has been fixed. |
What's New in Version 1.0.4? |
This was just an interim maintenance version. |
What's New in Version 1.0.3? |
ScriptE allowed the user to add a camera to a shot before adding the scene or scenes. This caused a problem.
ScriptE will now prevent the user from doing this. |
Modified the slates list on the shoot day window to show "n/a" for the camera and sound roll when there is no time recorded for a take. |
What's New in Version 1.0.2? |
Disabled the Add Camera button on the shot window while the time is running so that
an incorrect, partial take is not created. |
A small bit of old testing code has been removed that could have resulted in a lost shot. |
